I wanted to start with a base of a good, rich red so I chose Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Right Said Red. I used 2 coats. Dry time on this is a little slow, be sure to let your coats dry thoroughly in between. I really liked the look of the matte base for the dots shown in my previous pink polka dot mani so I topped the RSR with 2 coats of China Glaze Matte Magic. I love how the red looked matti-fied.
After the base color was good and dry, I used a medium sized dotting tool and Pure Ice Superstar to apply the polka dots. I let that dry overnight, then had Amanda draw in the little black bows with black acrylic paint (she prefers using acrylic paint for detail work as opposed to polish).
I am really loving these. So cute.
Now that Amanda is back to hold the fort down I'm jetting off to Boston for the week. See you on the flip side!
Too cute!!

aww they're soooo cute! I like the matte finish for a change, though I think it would look equally good if it was stilly shiny. when my self-imposed nail polish ban is over, I'm definitely trying this one!
ReplyDeleteI love the way that reds look matte.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute. Love them :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG! SO cuteee:)
ReplyDeleteI usually don't like the matte style, but it looks good here! And wow, that first picture looks like a totally different orange color compared to the others!
