If you're a jelly lover like I am you are gonna love these polishes. This is one of 4 new jellies in the Revlon Just Tinted collection. This one is Desire - and its full of bright pink squishy goodness! The formula on this was excellent - I had much better luck than with most other Revlon polishes - probably because it dries as a matte so the dry time is fast. Three coats is good on this one because it's so sheer. I actually ended up using 4 purely because of user error - I dinged a couple fingers as I was getting ready for bed and was too lazy to redo them so I just added another coat over the top. It has, unfortunately, detracted a little bit from the jelliness; but it's there - I promise you!. LOVE.

Summer Strawberries
I want to do a series of summer nail designs. I'm starting with this one that I'm going to call Summer Strawberries. I started with 2-3 coats of Essie French Affair. I love this color, but the formula kind of sucks on it in my opinion. I drew the little strawberries and the .... roots? stems? with a tiny nail brush and acrylic paints, and finally I made the dots for the seeds with a teeny tiny dotting tool. The glitter on the middle finger is Wet 'n' Wild Sparked.
Acrylic paints work MUCH better for me when I do nail art than polish does. I always have this problem where I can't get enough polish on the brush and it doesn't spread and move where I want it to move and it takes about a bazillion coats, so my method is to use acrylic paints. But you could very well use polishes too if that's what you prefer. I need to practice with using nail brushes, I know, but I still think these are kinda cute :)
Also, my cuticles are a mess... sorry :( That Milani Purple Gleam polish from my last post may have been pretty, but it sure was hell to take off, even WITH the foil method. Plus I had all those little glitter herpes all over my fingers after...Hmph.
Hope you all have a great day,
-Amanda

Sally Hansen Kook A Mango
Sorry about the absence of posts this weekend. Amanda has been out of town and I haven't been feeling well. I finally felt good enough to do my nails last night and this is what I'm wearing today.
I wanted a summery color - a sit-by-the-pool type color. So after my base coat of OPI Nail Envy I applied 3 coats of Sally Hansen Kook A Mango. It's a bright orangy coral - applies nicely and dries fast. I dinged it a little with the top coat but didn't worry about it cause I knew I would be Konading over it. I stamped over it with Konad Special Polish in white and plate 63.
Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Orly Lunar Eclipse Cosmic Leopard
I've been really uninspired for my manis lately - partly because I haven't been feeling well. But I think I like this one.
This is 3 coats of Orly Lunar Eclipse from their Cosmic FX collection. The bottle color is a deep indigo blue/violet with very subtle blue and pink sparkle. The color translates pretty accurately to the nail. It went on very smooth, leveled well and I did not have any issues with dry time.
Once it was dry I stamped over it with the Konad leopard plate using Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and filled in the dots with Studio M Frenzy. Here is the finished mani.

Oh, and one more thing - GO BRUINS! :-)

I call these...my diva nails
Hello! This not having a job thing sure leaves me a lot of time to do my nails...
These are definitely my "diva" nails. They're funky and sparkley and in your face and I think I really like them!
I started off by painting just the tips of my nails with Pure Ice's Super Star which is a really good white polish given the price. I only needed two coats to get it opaque! I applied SV over the white and waited a good 15 minutes, then taped off a diagonal on my nail with Scotch tape. I used Milani Purple Gleam over the tape to create the diagonal, applied more SV and waited another 10-15 minutes. Finally I taped off the opposite side of my nail and used the zebra print Konad plate in black special polish. Some of the tape lifted off when I was putting the purple on so I decided to use a silver striper to cover that up. I am so sneaky :)
Whad'ya think? Yay? Nay? I think these are so FIERCE! Rawr
